Li-Young Lee's poetry changed my life. He is one of the most intelligent people I have ever come into contact with. His poems are sensitive but not too sentimental. He came to SJSU when I was there. He talked about everything under the sun and more. He said that when he writes poems it's like hearing a woman speak from a couple rooms over-- muffled, but you can hear the cadence.
Check this video if you have 45 spare minutes.

Wow. I kept thinking to myself, "Who would listen to a guy talk poetry for 45 minutes?". Well I decided to give it a try anyway. Those 45 minutes went by fast. His speech is quiet and unassuming, but his words carry great weight. He gave me chills through out his entire reading. If your reading this I suggest you watch it. It's worth 45 minutes of your time.
sorry i don't have 45m to spare but im sure his speach was verry mooving.
I finally watched this video. It was pretty good. I would love to talk to this guy. He seems so brilliant. I loved the sound of his poems. They were calm but really thought provoking and impacting.
I watched the entire video, its reallyyyyy long, but I still kind of liked it. very interesting, but the guys voice kind of sounded like he was in pain. I enjoy poetry, but I'm terrible at it, so I like to listen to it and hear about it.
